The concert is a Charity event to help raise funds to support our local Postman who at 32 is waiting for a heart transplant. Shannon was born with a defective heart and now is on expensive medication and cannot work as he waits for a new heart. His family will need to be in Melbourne to give him support when this occurs and so our fundraising should help this to happen.

We have some special performers to entertain you.

Stephen Hyndman is a professional tenor singer based in Brisbane, Queensland. He specialises in performing for both small and large functions including funerals and weddings.

He began his professional singing career in 2000 by undertaking a music degree in the Conservatorium of Music at the Adelaide University. He studied voice as a part of the Bachelor of Music under the watchful eye of well-known Bass, Keith Hempton. During his time at the University he performed in a number of operas and oratorios including Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”, Handel’s “Messiah” and Monteverdi’s “Orfeo”.

He hopes you enjoy his singing as much as he enjoys performing for you.

We will also welcome a quartet from the Peninsula Chamber Musicians who are also generously supporting this event.

Formed in 2013, Peninsula Chamber Musicians Inc have rapidly developed into an outstanding presence in the artistic landscape of the Mornington Peninsula. Whether performing intimate chamber recitals or as an energetic chamber orchestra, the group seeks to touch the hearts of concert goers and inspire the next generation of performers. PCM invites Primary and Secondary school students to attend their family friendly and engaging concerts free of charge.

PCM was born from the desire to create opportunities and a sense of place for Peninsula based classical musicians. Now, it draws together highly skilled musicians from across the Peninsula and beyond. PCM has achieved recognition and support from members of Melbourne’s professional orchestral community.

An all female choir, Duenna, was founded in the hills of Budgeree in June 2018. Comprised of a diverse group of women, the choir is led by local singing teacher Amber Rhodes. Their repertoire consists of mostly acapella songs, which come from a wide variety of genres, including pop, folk and classical music.
