Length: 13km | Start/finish: Railway Park, Boolarra (opposite the general store)/Baromi Park, Mirboo North
Path surface: Compacted earth and fine gravel. Hilly, easier to go from Mirboo North to Boolarra.
The Grand Ridge Rail Trail winds 13 picturesque kilometres between Mirboo North and Boolarra in the Strzelecki Ranges. The trail navigates beautiful mountain countryside, several flora reserves and crosses large embankments. As a rail trail it is unique in being continuously along the site of the old railway track. The trail has starting points easily accessible at both Boolarra and Mirboo North and also has easy access along the track at the township of Darlimurla.
An easy-access shelter at the Meadows, a pleasant half-hour walk from the Boolarra end of the Trail.
Fitness Station located at Darlimurla.
Facilities: Toilets, barbeques, picnic tables, playground (Boolarra & Mirboo North), drinking fountain, parking and Bike Repair Station are located at the Boolarra entrance.
Opposite the Rail Trail is a skate park and BMX track.
