The Ascending Christ by Arthur Boyd

Inside the St Mary’s Anglican Church you will find ‘The Ascending Christ’ artwork by renowned Australian artist Arthur Boyd.

Originally commissioned for St John’s in Yallourn in 1960, the artwork was moved to St Mary’s in 1980.

Measuring 5 metres x 8 metres the impressive artwork is located behind the alter.

Featuring 16 masonite panels in casein and tempera paints of royal blue and white tones.

Large car-park at rear of church, off Buckley Street.
