What will funds be used for?
The funds will be used to organise Mental Health First Aid programs for leaders in local sporting clubs, particularly those clubs with youth and young adults. The Rotary Club of Traralgon will facilitate the golf day program and manage the funds raised on the day. The Rotary Club will also manage and oversee the funding of programs that will be conducted over the next 12 months. Research has shown that those trained in Mental Health First Aid have a better understanding of where to find information and professional support and are more confident in providing first aid to individuals experiencing mental health or a crisis. The goal is to raise enough money to facilitate 1 program a month over the next 12 months, potentially training in excess of 200 people in mental health first aid.
This is a very worthwhile cause, so get your team together for this event and support this cause.
